The City of Anna Maria is northern most city, It has two piers with great restaurants on them and good fishing, The Rod and Reel pier is privately own pier though it is the shorter of the two piers it is in deeper water. The Anna Maria Island historical City pier the longer pier with the larger restaurant on it. The city pier use to be the trade post and the boat entrance before the bridges were built to the island. It is located at the East end of the famous pine street with local merchants restaurants like; The Donut Experiment where the make your donuts from scratch made to order, and the famous Bay Fest Music and food festival occurs in October. Some of the more famous restaurants,near by are Sign of the mermaid, Sandbar, The Waterfront and Jenny and Jane’s. and don’t forget Ice scream at Two Scoops.
The middle city of the Island larger part of the island is Holmes Beach With is two main shopping districts Home to Sand dollar gift shop, restaurant like The Feast, Hurricane Hanks and Eat Here, Hasses coffee, Minnies Sunny side up and Island artist museums, Near by is Duffy’s island bar ( the best burger on the island) next to the Ugly Grouper and man made beach bar with live entertainment Tiki hut, beach game like corn hole and ring toss, good pull pork 8 to 10 PM every day. and don’t forget the world famous Golden Spoon awarded water front restaurant The Beach Bistro.
The second shopping district contains the main island grocery stores , island pharmacy, wonderful family owned, Paradise bagel, Peaches restaurant ,Old Hamburg Schnitzelhaus with home cooked Authentic German Dishes and Beers, and the cupcake shop, You can also fined smoothly king, Baskin and Robbins/Duncan donuts, Pizza one Subway, and China one
The southern most city is Bradenton Beach has a the largest public beach of the Three cities Coquina Beach. Beach beach has a little more of the touristy feel with live music restaurant like Beach house on the beach, Island times on bridge street, Anna Maria Oyster Bar located on the Bridge street pier witch used to be the first bridge connecting the island to City of Bradenton mainland. Bridge street main attraction to the city has a lot of local shops, a put put gulf place called Fish Hole, Great restaurants like Freckle Fin, Island Creperie, & Bridge Tender
